Last Monday night was hot and since I don't like to come to Cinvestav all sweaty I prefer to take morning showers. Oh boy.. the ____ *insert your favorite 4-letter word* boiler was broken!!! We didn't know anyone who could repair it so we could enjoy a nice, warm shower, so we decided that the yellow pages *had* to possess that ancient wisdom and so we chose the best ad there. Big fat mistake. The stupid guy overcharged us and he only "replaced" a piece with a new one.. then, he said, he would clean thoroughly the entire igniting mechanism... but he didn't and the freaking boiler remained broken... yesterday we called him for the fifth time and he won't answer our calls, or pretend he's busy...I'm sick of stove-heating my water... it's so... I don't know how to call it.. Primitive? time consuming? anyway..
Sorry about the rant, I know nobody cares but if I don't pour my bile here then where?

I was reading my f-list and it seems this fucking weekis being dreadful, heinous, bluntly mind-blowing for all of us.
I just wish I could be there for everyone needing (not me, or my very little help, since they seem to be completely independent and wise and strong persons) a hug, or an "I love you, I appreciate you much" etc...

Yes, I know. I'm such a whiner. I have to share this with anyone, I guess. Everyone in the lab has several responsibilities. Preparing a number of common solutions, sterilize glassware, making sure there are enough culture media, etc. Mine is to prepare all the antibiotics and other additives for culture media, such as Kanamycin, Carbenicillin, Nalidixic Acid, Tetracycline, IPTG, X-Gal, X-Glu, etc etc, and to make sure there is plenty of them ready to use.
To prepare carbenicillin is a very simple task. Glass vials with premeasured quantities of cb are injected with 10ml sterile double-distilled deionized water, the resultant mix aliquoted into 1 ml eppendorf tubes, and frozen.
But today instead of injecting the water to the vial, I pricked myself with the needle, down to the bone, I reached it I swear, and since the needle is rather thick, now I have a hole in my left index finger, and it hurts!! T____T Yes I know I'm such a sissy.
I want my mommy! I want Lenin! I just want a hug. TOT

I can't believe I did not pay attention to the entire song. I used to love the tune and hum it but now I can savor it.
Passing to different matters, since the beginning of the week we contracted a cable service (I have not had cable since september) and only until yesterday the two guys from the company gave us the privilege of their presence. The installation was slow and messy and guess what? they forgot the key to the filter used to block cable signal from internet signal (which we already had) so we had to wait until today (I wonder if they even went to my house by now since I'm trapped here) to have the freaking signal. Grr. I swear if I have to see another episode of "Montecristo" (A soap opera, a very cheesy and pretentious one) I'm going to crack. I need SVU!! I need House, M.D., I need Cartoon network!! bwahahah
Today is party day!!! I missed that! =DDD
